Laura Lindal, CPA
In pursuit of an enjoyable work environment, I established my own CPA firm in 2008. This has allowed me to be more responsive to my clients’ needs and provided the opportunity to further my professional expertise. My career path equipped me with the tools to understand how to accomplish an efficient audit while effectively complying with professional standards. I have had extensive experience designing an audit from start to finish without the use of commercial practice aids. This continues to provide perspective on how to use and when to tailor the use of practice aids to accomplish audit objectives.
My clients have the advantage of working directly with me year after year rather than re-training new auditors about their organization and financial information each year. I am able to apply my significant experience with, and knowledge of, clients’ industries and activities for efficient use of my clients’ time. Working as a sole auditor, I am insulated from the current environment of personnel turnover and a shortage of working individuals.
My business strategy is to only accept new clients on a very limited basis, only 1-2 a year depending on the activities of current clients; some years not accepting any new clients. This allows me the opportunity to continue to provide great service to my clients, while complying with ever-changing requirements related to auditing, financial statement reporting, and government programs.
